CWC at Twenty Years and More!

The Clockhouse Writers' Conference (CWC) was founded in 1997, based on seemingly simple ideas that are enshrined in the Founding Principles and that have guided us ever since.  Please take a minute to read them here.

While hewing to those Founding Principles, CWC has also grown quite a bit.  What began as a small gathering of MFAW alumni, returning to Vermont to attend their friends' summer-time graduation, is now an annual summer Conference & Retreat on Goddard's Plainfield, Vermont, campus, and an annual winter Conference & Retreat at Goddard's Pt. Townsend, Washington, site.  What's more, CWC also began publication of the literary journal CLOCKHOUSE in partnership with Goddard College and the MFAW program.  You can check out Vermont's Clockhouse Writers' Conference & Retreat here, the Pt. Townsend Lighthouse Writers' Conference & Retreat here, and the CLOCKHOUSE literary journal here.

CWC celebrated these endeavors and our 20th anniversary during the 2017 Clockhouse Writers' Conference & Retreat.  You can view the Writer in the World blogpost about the event (complete with photos!) here, and you can view the twenty-year history of CWC (also with great photos) here.

One of the loveliest events during our 20th Anniversary celebration was the creation of a group commemorative poem.  Please read that here, and please help carry the memory of the past twenty years and the spirit of CWC into its next decades!
