Goddard College and CWC Alumni Association Conference & Retreat Policies

By registering for either the Clockhouse or Lighthouse Conference & Retreat, members of the CWC alumni community agree to abide by the same Goddard College Community Life and other policies governing faculty, staff, and current students.  These include policies concerning visitors in general and child-care requirements regarding any children who might be on campus for even a short visit during the Conference & Retreat.   A copy of the Community Life Agreement will be included in each Conference & Retreat schedule.  If you anticipate having a visitor under the 18, please contact your Conference & Retreat coordinator, who will send you the necessary forms and follow up on your behalf with the College.

PLEASE NOTE:  By registering for our 2022 CWC&R, participants attending in person are agreeing to abide by Goddard's Covid policies, which can be reviewed here:  https://www.goddard.edu/goddard-college-coronavirus-update/

Of equal importance, registrants agree to abide by the CWC Alumni Association's agreement with Goddard College about a necessary separation between the MFAW educational program and each Conference & Retreat.  Sharing the campus with the current MFAW students gives us multiple changes to interact:  meals, Visiting Professional presentations, Visiting Writer workshops and performances, and the particular events on each schedule that are designated as open to both groups.  These include CWC's Life After Goddard panels and celebrations of the CLOCKHOUSE journal, for example.  It's important to note, though, that what doesn't show up on our C&R schedules is reserved for current MFAW students:  advisory meetings and degree-relevant workshops, in particular, are reserved for the program's current students.  Likewise, while the C&Rs are a wonderful time to reconnect in conversation with faculty as informal moments may permit, we need to understand and respect that the C&Rs do not provide time for faculty to step away from their already fully-scheduled work week with their current students to review or otherwise engage with alumni work.

If you have any questions about these policies or, again, if you need copies of the child-care forms, please feel free to reach out to one of your C&R coordinators or to me.

With every good wish,
